December 2011 - Berkeley County Board of Education joins retirement Plus making it the fifth board of education to adopt the 457 Plan.
September 2011 - Retirement Plus participants reach 12,000 total members; doubling the total from July 2006 when the Treasurer's Office became the Plan's administrator.
June 2011 - Sissonville Public Service District joins Retirement Plus, making it the eleventh PSD to join the 457 Plan.
March 2011 - Raleigh County Board of Education adopts Retirement Plus joining Mercer and Wyoming Counties as the third board of education to offer the State's 457 Plan to their employees.
February 2011 - Wyoming County Board of Education joins Retirement Plus becoming the first board of education to adopt the State's 457 Plan.
December 2010 - 43 counties and 37 cities have joined WV Retirement Plus increasing the total political subdivision membership to more than 100 entities.
September 2010 - Nearly $600,000 in matching funds were distributed to eligible state employees. This marked the third matching deposit with more than $1.5 Million in total funds distributed to date.
June 2010 - 300 plus state employees join the Plan in May and June to become eligible for $200 in contribution matching funds.
December 2009 - The participant base exceeds 10,000 for the first time in Plan history.
October 2009 - More than $500,000 in contribution matching funds are deposited into eligible participant accounts.
September 2009 - West Virginia Retirement Plus is featured in a national article by Plan Sponsor Magazine
May 2009 - The Treasurer’s Office worked with ING to update the Plan’s investment menu by replacing several existing funds with improved investment options.
March 2009 – Total Plan participants exceed 9,000 with more than 500 political subdivision employees participating
January 2009 – The Treasurer’s Office partners with ING to add another customer service representative in the Clarksburg area.
November 2008 – More than 50 cities, counties and other political subdivisions now participate in WV Retirement Plus
October 2008 – The active participation rate increases to 23% of eligible state employees, representing an 8% increase since July 2006.
July 2008 – Total Plan participants exceed 8,000, bolstered by 4,000 new enrollments since the Treasurer’s Office became the Plan administrator.
January 2008 – West Virginia Retirement Plus becomes officially endorsed by the West Virginia Municipal League.
